If they are not getting enough you could be endangering their health
Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) have roles as important when it comes to health, because every cell in your body requires. And as much as 95% of people are deficient in them, the important role of being compromised.
The growing body and brain need the right nutrients
This is why the deficiency of which is so devastating for everyone, but especially for children who are engaged in growth and development. The body has specific windows of opportunity based on age, which can not be used optimally if the raw material for optimal growth and development are not present in the child's diet.
When children have a deficiency of these fats only ones who can suffer from many different complaints, but that is the most notable growth retardation. This is because the most vital organs for survival, such as brain and heart, get the first selection of nutrients in the bloodstream, while other bodies will get what's left. Therefore, the brain of your child will receive the first option, but its height and other areas of development can suffer.
And the hormone production is hampered as well ...
Unfortunately, not having the right kind of fats can also interfere with hormone production, which again will influence their growth and development, such as hormones are an integral part of the growth process of children.
The brain needs the right fats
And as the brain is composed of 60% fat, a child's growth and brain development are also adversely affected.
At the age of two years, the human brain has reached 75% of its adult size, and 70% of cells in the brain of a division before birth, so the first few months after the birth years are critical to growth of synapses, the parts of neurons that allow them to connect with each other and therefore form the basis of thought.
Many of the most important aspects of a healthy brain development are refined in the period a year old and ten years old. Speech, vocabulary and language development and visual acuity have been firmly established during this time.
This is why it is much easier for a child to learn a new language, compared with an adult. The child is learning a new language, while their brain is developing, not after, as with adults.
Physical coordination and movement needs the right fats to develop without problems
On the other hand, fine and gross motor coordination, and emotional health, are firmly established at this stage of development. This is a time when all forms new experiences, sensations and feelings in the brain and the child's brain is enriched by their experiences.
When the child reaches the end of this stage, the brain has formed an enormous amount of neural connections, and has reached the end of their time of maximum plasticity, or growth.
However, nutrients continue to support the physical growth and neuronal structure and connections, as the child enters adolescence, where the brain continues to grow and form new connections.
What about teenagers?
In adolescence, parents usually want to mood and emotional stability in their children, and when the right fats are not present is almost impossible for the young person to maintain cognitive stability. This is simply because the brain has no raw materials to ensure both the cognitive and emotional stability.
Another very important fact to note is that the supply of blood and brain develop simultaneously and therefore closely intertwined. The fate of the brain and its ability to function is therefore directly related to the developing blood supply.
Dietary factors can cause blood vessels to start cutting at an early age, with serious consequences for your child's brain function and physical health.
The blood vessels and oxygen
Therefore, very early in life, dietary fat has a profound effect on the blood vessels that supply nutrients and oxygen vital to your child's brain - and body - and if the balance of fats is incorrect blood vessels begin to close early in life, influencing brain function throughout their lives.
Because oxygen is so important to the life and function of the brain - the brain uses 25% of oxygen consumed by the body - it is imperative that these vessels do not constrict.
A heart working efficiently is important for optimal brain functioning. The brain uses 20% of the heart, the blood that are 25 times more than the equivalent weight of tissue in an arm or leg rest.
It is therefore imperative that these ships are able to provide the supply of blood and oxygen needed for optimal cognitive function.
Anything that interferes with the integrity of blood vessels, such as bad fats, will interfere with optimal functioning of your child's brain and physical development.
