Saw II Film Review

Saw II is a 2005 horror film distributed by Lions Gate Films. It stars Donnie Wahlberg, Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Erik Knudsen, Franky G., and writers are Leigh Whannell and Darren Lynn Bousman. The director is Darren Lynn Bousman.

The story begins with an informant named Michael with a split nail mask locked around his neck. He says using the blade to cut the device key, behind his eyes. He is unable at the time and closes the mask on his face. Detective Eric Matthews is called to the scene because Jigsaw wrote his name on the roof. Jigsaw located in an old steel mill and abandoned. Easily capture, but not before he tells Matthews that his son is trapped in an old house somewhere with some of the criminals that the detective had made in the past. In three hours, the doors of the house opens. Unfortunately, they only have two hours to find antidotes to poison gas that is breathing in the house. One such person is a survivor of one of the "games" of the first film Jigsaw, Amanda Young. There are several antidotes located throughout the house and every one of them is to bring together a history of Jigsaw's traps.

In this film, you really get a good look at Jigsaw and what it is like in person. Towards the end of the first movie, we were given an indication that Jigsaw, or John Kramer, is dying of a terminal form of cancer. Here we see how much they are suffering. He is a man of few emotions. In a way, I almost had sympathy for John in the film. Let's see how it became what it is today and why. After being diagnosed with cancer and trying to end his life, he had noticed a new purpose for living. John would teach those he considers as lost their lives and give them a reason to fight for their lives. He does not see what you are doing as morally wrong. John says that "the options are of them" if their "test subjects" want to live or die.

Once again in this movie Saw, which is apparently traps see a solution given to victims of Jigsaw without conditions. One of these traps that occurs toward the beginning of the film, when all the people are still locked in the room where you first woke up. Amanda looks around a tape of Jigsaw with some instructions on it. After listening to his instructions, is located a key and a note of warning not to use the key to unlock the door. They do it anyway, and when you turn the key in the lock, a gun at the door hits the head of one of the people in the room.

Another of these traps in particular is one in which Addison, one of the women in the group, is an antidote against the inside of a glass box hanging from the ceiling. There is also a tape with instructions on it, but carelessly Addison pull the tape away. She reaches into the box with two holes underneath. Pour the antidote before he can leave. When it comes to get his arms free, because the holes can not put his hand lined with razor blades. The more Addison tries to pull his arms outstretched, the deepest cut leaves on them.

Finally, Saw II really gives us a much better man behind the traps, John Kramer. The film tells us more of his backstory. I recommend it!
