Passport For Children - Does Your Infant Need A Passport?
Having the right information to obtain a passport for a child is essential, as there are many steps that must be completed. However, information available online is not always kept up to date, and can sometimes be simply wrong.
Are you and your family travels the world before? Well, then you really have to apply for a child passport for their children who are under 16 years.
While gathering the right information on how to apply for a child, start making a list to each step, you can then view the list. Follow along a list of requirements that must be completed before going to an Acceptance Agent.
The consent of a parent or guardian
- If both parents are available, then the child should be accompanied by parents at the same time.
- When only one parent may appear in person with the child after the other parent must complete, sign and notarize a statement of consent form.
- If the other parent has been declared legally incompetent, you must show the court order giving you sole legal custody.
- If the other parent is deceased, then you need to obtain a death certificate to be presented.
- In cases such as adoption, is acceptable if there is only one legal guardian. You must submit an official adoption decree his name appears as the sole guardian.
- Use the DS-3053 form if none of the above apply to your situation.
- When a third traveling with a child, parents must present a notarized letter giving permission to apply for a passport for children.
