Selling to Groups and Committees

The sale to groups and committees can lead to land an ideal client when done right! On the other hand, most vendors were never trained in any approaches, techniques or processes to effectively sell to groups and committees. As a result, simply arrive and start talking - just like the rest of the vendors.

The group or committee is often referred to as a "selection committee" which has the responsibility to choose among several potential suppliers. For the selection committee, the selection process can be laborious and apparently a death march, sometimes called the gateway vendors becomes a boring line of vendors who sound like they're reading a book and covers the slides and stories become an endless plane. The Sandler trained professional knows how to take advantage of the opportunity and weak sales of its competitors. Hardly anyone is doing pre-call approach!
