Diet Foods Dissected

While wasting brain cells watching television, which was inundated with ads full of marketing gimmicks. Multigrain chips, Brownies fiber, 100 calories (what), "real" fruit smoothies and frozen yogurt are some of the blame. Oxymoron epic to turn our mind. With all these options, what should you buy?

One of my favorite phrases I use when it comes to discussing food choices is as follows: "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, it must be a duck." It's really as simple as that.

Multigrain Chips. They go by many different aliases. Crisps, thins, runs ... What is a "multi-grain Pop" anyway? What it comes down to, unfortunately, is: "If it smells like a chip, known as a chip, looks like a chip, which must be a chip." A chip with more natural ingredients is a better choice than a normal chip, but ... remains a chip.

Brownies fiber. Another method of creative marketing, I guess. Brownie fiber sounds delicious and healthy! WIN! Not so fast. Of course, the nutrition label says "safe": 90 calories, 3 g fat, 18 g carbohydrates, 5 g fiber, 8 g sugar, 1 g protein, but if you're on a journey to develop a healthy lifestyle, this is not going to cut. Although it will not hurt to eat from time to time, by replacing the bad food on a regular to diet chemically altered, not to replace bad habits!

100 calories, what? On the same note as brownies, eat 100 calories of cookies as a daily snack is better than eating 300 calories of cookies. Make a better choice snack will be more effective in developing a healthy lifestyle because, really, no problems are solved here to fix some physical and emotional addiction to bad food, if you keep eating cookies as snacks.

"Real" fruit smoothies. Fast food chains are ultimately all about smoothies. Unfortunately, "real fruit", meaning natural fruit syrup with a few small pieces of fruit added (if you're lucky). The answer to this trick is very simple: if you see someone as fruit and water in a blender with nothing artificial, do not drink!

Finally, plain ol 'frozen yogurt. A classic marketing trick is to eat what the general public is afraid at one point. For a time, was fat, carbohydrate was then, so he started to produce all that "fat free" and "low carb". In fact, fat-free usually means more carbs / sugar, while low-carb, high fat. Frozen yogurt is a "low fat" products loaded with sugar. It's like having a cheat meal and eat ice cream for real. At least ice really has a balance of chemicals in fat and sugar and less.

In conclusion, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. It is difficult for many Americans to understand that a natural diet will do more well-rounded health and fat loss than any amount of food in the diet of luxury. The next time you find yourself confused by a marketing plan, think back to ancient human existence - we eat multigrain "pops" and fiber brownies? Our bodies just were not made to digest and properly use these concoctions. Say "thank you" to your body so it does everything for you by grabbing an apple and almonds ever
